Electronic Suspension System (ESS)

Continuous control electronic suspension system (CCES) is
the suspension system in which damper of each wheel can independently change
their resistance continuously during extension and compression. The resistance
or damping depends on state of road, speed of vehicle and type of driving.

Working

Types of sensors
  1. Three Acceleration sensor, two front and one rear.
  2. Bodywork position sensor or height sensor located near each
    wheel.
  3. Steering sensor.

CCES system analyses information from these sensor in every
6 milliseconds and sends information to Electronic Control Unit, decides the
amount of resistance to be offered on each damper. The resistance is adjusted
independently by use of Electronic valve in the damper.
Electronic valve- Solenoid controlled device actuates
electronic cylinder, controlled on will of controller by varying the amount of
current. This electronic cylinder allows or prevents the fluids to pass into
the damper. The controller varies amount of current of solenoid from 1.6 A (For
sporty drive) 2.29 A (For comfort drive).

Advantages

  1. Gives chassis maximum stability by controlling the spring
    movement.
  2. Increases the control, stability and ease of handling the
    vehicle.
  3. Gives maximum driver and passengers comfort on all type of
    road conditions.
  4. Adapts all type of driving conditions.
